AVONDALE — The owner of a Rogers Park vintage shop that closed amid controversy over his transphobic social media posts died last week from head injuries sustained from an assault, according to police and the medical examiner.
Xander Kazanowski, 25, was found face-down and not breathing around 3 a.m. March 24 in the 3900 block of W. Belmont Ave. in Avondale with blunt-force injuries to his head, according to a police report obtained by Block Club.
