Isolated severe storms possible in Houston area this Easter weekend

As of Friday, the National Weather Service warned of a marginal risk of severe weather and excessive rainfall from Galveston to College Station.

There is potential for strong to severe isolated storms Saturday in the Houston area as a cold front is forecast to move through the region, according to the National Weather Service Houston/Galveston office.

Beginning Saturday evening, a cold front is expected to move in from the northwest, bringing the possibility of scattered showers and thunderstorms into the night, according to the NWS.

The high for Friday is expected to reach 83 degrees in the Houston metro area, but by Sunday, temperatures are expected to be anywhere from 65 to 70 degrees.
