BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. (KCTV) – Proposed changes to Blue Springs’ city code could make hotels and motels safer, supporters say.

City council members are expected to consider amendments to the city’s hotel and motel code during their April 6 meeting.

What could change

If approved, the amendments would align how the city and the Blue Springs Police Department label calls for service to hotels and motels.

Right now, the city codes categories don’t match the call types used in the police department’s dispatch system. Supporters say that mismatch makes it more difficult, and more time-consuming, to track disturbances and other calls at hotels and motels across Blue Springs.
