Rockford Urban Ministries hosts 38th annual Good Friday Walk for Justice

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – People from different walks of faith came together on Friday for the annual Good Friday Walk for Justice, an almost four-decade-old tradition in Rockford.

At 9 a.m., April 3, members from several Rockford-area congregations started their walk at Emmanuel Episcopal Church and continued onto 14 locations, also known as station of the cross.

Participants took turns carrying a cross to each of the stops.

Prayers were read and songs were sung throughout the 75-minute walk, centering on the participants’ shared beliefs for social justice…
