SEDGWICK COUNTY, Kan. — The Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal train versus pedestrian crash that occurred Wednesday evening, April 1, along the railroad tracks in the 3300 block of South K-15 Highway near Turnpike Drive, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Branden Stitt.
Just after 9o.m., deputies, along with Sedgwick County EMS and Sedgwick County Fire District 1, responded to a report from BNSF Railway that a locomotive had struck a pedestrian on the tracks.
