South Carolina head coach Shane Beamer has added a big-time signal-caller to his 2027 class. On Friday, just one day after reports surfaced that the Gamecocks were close to landing hima, three-star quarterback Jerry Meyer III verbally commitment to South Carolina, as first reported by The Big Spur at 247Sports:

On Thursday, On3’s Sam Spiegelman predicted that the Gamecocks had a 91.9% chance to land the signal-caller. The outlet rates Meyer III as a three-star quarterback prospect, and the No. 56 overall quarterback for 2027.
Beamer getting Meyer is a big get for South Carolina’s 2027 class. Previously, the Waxahachie, Texas quarterback was verbally committed to TCU since Aug. 2025. But a few weeks after South Carolina offered the quarterback, Meyer decommitted from the Horned Frogs in February earlier this year.
