Driver Had Ecstasy, Coke, Passenger Wanted On Warrant In Hawthorne Stop: Cops

Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop at approximately 2 p.m. on March 17, for several violations, according to Hawthorne Police Detective Lt. Matthew Hoogmoed.

The driver, later identified as Jose Rivera, 51, appeared nervous and was found to be driving while suspended, police said. Officers also discovered that his passenger, Marissa Smith, 44, of River Vale, had an active warrant for her arrest, Hoogmoed said.

After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, officers found Rivera in possession of a container with numerous ecstasy pills, along with additional quantities of ecstasy and cocaine inside the vehicle, the lieutenant said…
