Former Dighton-Rehoboth girls soccer standout named as new head coach

A former Dighton-Rehoboth girls soccer standout, captain and assistant coach is now set to take the reigns of the Falcons this fall.

In a press release on Friday, April 3, Dighton-Rehoboth Athletic Director Matt McKinnon announced that Evie Rodrigues has been named the new varsity girls soccer coach. Just the fourth coach in program history, she replaces Mike Cooke, under whom she served as an assistant during his four years in charge.

“We are thrilled to have coach Rodrigues lead this next era of Dighton-Rehoboth girls soccer,” McKinnon said in the press release. “As a D-R alumna and current teacher in our district, she truly lives and breathes the #WeAreDR mantra. Her passion for the program, commitment to our student-athletes, and deep connection to the Dighton-Rehoboth community make her the ideal person to guide the future of our girls soccer program.”…
