IA National Guard soldiers to land Thursday in Cedar Rapids

DES MOINES, Iowa (WHO) — After landing in the United States last week, the Iowa National Guard says 200 more Iowa soldiers will be welcomed home on Thursday.

On March 27, the Guard announced that an additional 200 soldiers from the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division, had safely arrived back in the United States. These soldiers are being welcomed back to Cedar Rapids.

The Guard has now announced that the first of the ceremonies will take place on Thursday, April 2. The soldiers are scheduled to arrive at the Eastern Iowa Airport at 12:10 p.m., with the official welcome home ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. at the Iowa Army Guard Armory, 1500 Wright Brothers Boulevard W in Cedar Rapids.
