Precinct 8 Deputy S. Margison and crew caught a whiff of cray cray out of Crosby.

On March 23, 2026, at around 6:19 PM, Deputy S. Margison pulled over a vehicle for a moving violation. When Deputy Margison made contact with the driver, identified as 35-year-old Ashley Murray from Crosby, he detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and noticed she could not sit still and was extremely fidgety. Murray was asked multiple times to exit the vehicle for a driving while intoxicated (DWI) investigation but refused to comply. Deputies then attempted to assist her from the vehicle, at which point she put the car back in drive. Deputy Spray was on scene and entered her vehicle from the passenger side, shifted it into park, and prevented further movement.

Murray was subsequently removed from the vehicle, and an investigation for intoxication was conducted. During the investigation, Murray became uncooperative and combative with deputies. Deputies determined Smith was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely.

Further investigation revealed that Murray had outstanding warrants from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office. Murray was taken into custody for the warrants.
