AUSTIN (KXAN) — Austin Police (APD) announced it had $50,000 to train local nonprofit and private mental health counselors to provide treatment to trauma survivors.
APD said the training, which normally ranges from $2,000 to $4,000, was funded by the department and utilized a treatment that focuses on the disturbing emotions and symptoms that result from a traumatic event.
