At Hayward Field, the roar of the crowd is familiar, not just from collegiate competition, but from years of growing up in the stands, watching, waiting and imagining what it would be like to run in TrackTown, USA. Long before she wore an Oregon uniform, University of Oregon distance runner Hannah Seubert was just another Eugene kid chasing a chance to race on the sport’s most iconic stage.
“I remember going to middle school districts … and everyone hyping it up, ‘You have to get to districts because you have to run at Hayward,’” Seubert said. “That was the goal.”
