Waxahachie (Texas) quarterback Jerry Meyer III announced his commitment to South Carolina on Friday. He chose the Gamecocks over offers from programs such as Baylor, Houston, Purdue, Ole Miss, SMU and Texas Tech.
Meyer had previously been committed to TCU but parted ways with the Horned Frogs in February after Kendal Briles, the program’s offensive coordinator, left to join Shane Beamer’s Gamecocks staff.
“Coach Briles was a big part of this decision,” Meyer told Rivals’ Sam Spiegelman. “I have a great relationship with him, and he has my trust. I’m also thankful for the rest of the staff and the relationship being established there.”…
