Alex Michael Mosby, 35, is currently facing five misdemeanor charges for violating a domestic violence injunction.
Gainesville Police Department (GPD) Officer Havis Velasquez-Rosario filed a sworn complaint against Mosby in October 2024 and she is a witness in the case. The trial is scheduled to begin in roughly two weeks.
On April 1, 2026, Assistant State Attorney Dean Zipes informed the Public Defender’s Office of “evidence that may possibly be exculpatory or impeaching in nature: Witness Havis Velasquez Rosario (Officer with [GPD], Badge #1120) has been arrested and is under current prosecution for the offense of Domestic Battery, Case #- 01-2026-[Misdemeanor]-000652-A.”
