Kentucky woman charged after allegedly trying to hit pedestrians, including child

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKRC) – A woman faces multiple charges after police said she drove recklessly through a park, tried to hit pedestrians — including an 8-year-old — and later broke into a home while fleeing.

Per WKYT, Lexington police said officers were called to a park March 31 after reports of a driver going onto the grass, doing donuts and attempting to strike people. According to an arrest citation, 40-year-old Kathryn Johnston tried to hit three pedestrians, who ran and jumped into yards to avoid being struck.

Police said Johnston chased the group as they left the park and later fled the scene at a high rate of speed. WKYT reports an officer reported seeing her attempt to run another vehicle off the road and nearly hit children in a nearby neighborhood…
