Percy’s Bar wins Central Bank Ashland at Keeneland

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — Percy’s Bar, trained by Ben Colebrook, had a rail-skimming run in the Grade 1 race to upset the heavily favored Zany on Friday afternoon at Keeneland.

It initially appeared the race would unfold exactly as expected, with Zany cruising comfortably into the stretch and holding the lead at the quarter pole. But right behind her, Percy’s Bar, ridden by Luan Machado, found an opening at just the right moment, surged through the gap, and powered past to win at the wire.

The victory earned the filly 100 points toward the Kentucky Oaks, bringing her total up to 114.
