Kaye’s Pints & Scoops is settling into a brick-and-mortar home at Midtown’s Crosstown Concourse, turning its new walk-in shop, The Scoop, into the latest reason to wander the building’s plaza. The small-batch creamery is taking over the storefront recently vacated by Sweet Magnolia Gelato, giving owner Kiamesha Wilson a permanent counter beyond pop-up tents and wholesale freezer doors. Wilson says the focus will stay on locally sourced ingredients and neighborly service, and the business is already hiring scoopers and front-of-house staff ahead of a public opening.
From pop-up to storefront
The Scoop is billed as “an extension of the city’s favorite creamery,” leaning into the same small-batch production and clean-label recipes that built Kaye’s following, according to Kaye’s Pints & Scoops. The creamery says roughly half of the shop’s ingredients will be pulled from MidSouth farmers and producers, and the Crosstown counter will rotate through the same flavors regulars have chased at markets and events.
Taking over the Sweet Magnolia stall
The new ice cream counter is sliding into the former Sweet Magnolia Gelato space inside Crosstown, the massive renovated complex that doubles as arts hub and food hall. Earlier this year, Sweet Magnolia said it was searching for a new retail home, according to WhatNow, leaving a prime corner of the concourse open for the next dessert act.
