Portsmouth fugitive, three others arrested in theft ring investigation

PORTSMOUTH, Va. — A fugitive and three other suspects have been arrested in connection with a string of thefts across Hampton Roads, Portsmouth police said.

46-year-old Shane Cullen was taken into custody on April 1 after allegedly evading law enforcement during multiple vehicle pursuits, including a chase and crash on March 20. He was wanted on warrants tied to motor vehicle thefts, burglaries, and larcenies, according to the Portsmouth Police Department.

Following his arrest, detectives executed a search warrant at a residence on Afton Parkway, where they recovered more than $10,000 in lawn equipment, three trailers, a rifle, a military uniform, and power washers.
