City considering $280,000 purchase of 300 manhole covers, rings

The Ocala City Council is set to vote on a proposal to spend over $280,000 to replenish the city’s inventory of manhole rings and covers.

The purchase will be discussed during the council’s upcoming meeting on Tuesday, April 7. According to a staff memo, the Water Resources Department is seeking approval to purchase 300 units from Fortiline Waterworks, LLC, the lowest bidder in a recent competitive process. The total contract amount is $280,612.50.
