A Cape Cod nonprofit just got a lifeline — for 79 families, it could mean everything

As Massachusetts families are increasingly squeezed out of the housing market, a Cape Cod housing nonprofit just got a lifeline — and it’s passing it on.

MassDevelopment issued a $4.4 million tax-exempt bond on behalf of Housing Assistance and HAC Love Lane LLC, with Rockland Trust purchasing the bond to help the Cape Cod-based nonprofit achieve a lower cost of capital.

According to a Thursday press release, the financial relief goes directly toward sustaining an emergency family shelter capable of housing up to 79 families in South Dennis, while freeing up resources to create more affordable housing across the region…
