University of Iowa study links loneliness to keeping clutter and trouble letting go

IOWA CITY, Iowa — Spring usually means spring cleaning for a lot of folks who are looking to get rid of things taking up space and sliding through the rest of the year on a clean slate.

But a lot of people struggle with getting rid of items because of an attachment to them.

Researchers at the University of Iowa looked at a possible connection to the deeper reason behind the attachment and ways to get through it from a different perspective. And it turns out loneliness has a lot to do with it…
