Amarillo Zoo transitions to Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Amarillo Zoo, along with Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, announced that paperwork is complete, and the Amarillo Zoo has now officially transitioned to Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary.

According to the Amarillo Zoo, it will be closed from April 3 through April 26 and will reopen to the public on April 27. Officials said this time will be used for staff transitions, operational updates, and preparations.

The Amarillo Zoo and the Wild West Wildlife Rehabilitation Center said, “We sincerely apologize that this closure falls over the Easter weekend. We know many families have made it a tradition to spend that time at the zoo, and we truly appreciate your understanding and grace as we work through this important transition.”
