WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — As the District continues enforcing juvenile curfew zones in some of its busiest areas, city leaders and community organizations are working to provide safe alternatives for young people.
The effort comes as concerns grow over teen gatherings across the city. Police say a large fight involving teens broke out earlier Friday in one of the curfew zones near Banneker, highlighting the very issues leaders are trying to prevent.
