Sparks police teamed up with two major retailers this week in a targeted effort to crack down on retail theft, an operation that ended with three arrests and hundreds of dollars in recovered merchandise.
The Sparks Police Department’s FUSE (Follow Up and Special Enforcement) Team partnered with Target and TJ Maxx in Sparks for a controlled retail theft operation. Officers arrested three people during the effort.
Police said the charges included burglary, petit larceny, obtaining money under false pretenses and obstructing law enforcement. The obstructing charge involved a foot pursuit, and police credited their Falcon Team, the department’s drone team, with assisting during the chase.
