‘Such a cool part of being an athlete in Alaska’: Alaskan Olympians receive homecoming following Games

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) – After a trip around the world putting Alaska front and center at the Winter Olympics, it’s time for the stars to come home.

Members of the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympic team were celebrated at Town Square Park in Anchorage on Friday. All of them tracing their journey to the games, and for some, the podium, back to The Last Frontier.

“This is such a cool part of being an athlete in Alaska,” 2018 Gold Medalist Kikkan Randall said. “I remember being one of these kids when Tommy Moe came back with his gold medal in 1994, and then to get a chance to fulfill that as an athlete myself. And now, watching my son go up and get their autographs, it’s just such a cool circle of inspiration.”…
