The Pisgah Conservancy, a nonprofit created to support the Pisgah Ranger District of Pisgah National Forest, has received an $8 million grant to continue its Tropical Storm Helene restoration work, the group announced in an April 2 Facebook post.
“Since the storm, our team has been on the ground clearing roads, restoring trails, rebuilding bridges, and working alongside the USDA Forest Service and this incredible community. Now, this grant allows us to go even further,” according to the post.
The money, from the National Forest Foundation, will also go towards managing invasive plants, stabilizing streambanks, controlling erosion and education on watershed stewardship, it said…
