A large hole opened Saturday on Gold Hill Road , also known as S.C. 460 in the Fort Mill area, drawing a police response and raising concerns about road safety along one of York County’s busiest corridors.
The hole, described by witnesses as a significant opening in the roadway consistent with a sinkhole, appeared in front of the New York Butcher Shoppe on Gold Hill Road. Officers were on scene as of the time of this report.
Gold Hill Road carries heavy commuter traffic between Tega Cay, Fort Mill, and the Interstate 77 interchange at Exit 88, making any lane disruption a concern for tens of thousands of daily drivers in the region…
