Gas prices hit $4 a gallon just in time for Midlands spring break; some families are changing their plans

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Spring break is underway for many school districts across the Midlands, a time when families typically travel. But this year, higher gas prices are forcing many to rethink those plans.

According to AAA, gas prices have climbed over the past month to around $4 a gallon, making travel more expensive for drivers.
