COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A child is safe after an alleged kidnapping that sparked a miles-long police and helicopter chase into south Columbus.
According to a Columbus Division of Police criminal complaint, an officer alerted the sexual assault unit of a kidnapping near the 800 block of Lyman Avenue in east Columbus.
Police interviewed a woman who said that at around 12:30 a.m. a man knocked on the Lyman Avenue home, wanting to see the child. The woman watching the child wanted to confirm with the mother that it was OK, but the mother said it was not.
