Madison County student charged after ‘glock switch’ device found on campus, sheriff says

HAZEL GREEN, Ala. — The Madison County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation into a weapon brought onto a local school campus identified a machine gun conversion device among other concerns.

A Hazel Green High School student was arrested after an anonymous tip led investigators to find an unserialized firearm component and a device commonly referred to as a “Glock switch” on campus Thursday, the sheriff’s office announced Friday night.

A School Resource Officer was notified through the school’s anonymous tip line that a student was reportedly in possession of a firearm equipped with the conversion device and had allegedly pointed it at another individual. The tip also indicated the student kept the weapon in his vehicle…
