Man dies after single-car crash in Battle Creek

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (WOOD) — A man is dead after suffering an apparent medical emergency and crashing his car into a tree in Battle Creek Thursday afternoon, police say.

Witnesses told police that they saw a man slump over into the passenger seat of his car while driving north on M-37 near Marvin Street just before 4 p.m. Moments later, he left the roadway and crashed head-first into a tree, Battle Creek police said in a release.

First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the 42-year-old Bedford Township man was pronounced dead at the scene about 40 minutes later. Police have not identified the man pending the notification of his family…
