Pet bird dies after house fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — The Providence Fire Department said a fire at a home on Vandewater Street on April 3 resulted in the death of a pet bird.

The department said the fire occurred around 6:45 p.m. and started in a first-floor bedroom.

All occupants of the house were able to get out themselves, and two dogs, one cat, and one other bird were recovered alive…
