ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A Riverview alderwoman was charged Wednesday with assault, accused of hitting someone with a lawn chair.
St. Louis County Prosecutors charged Ruth Phillips with misdemeanor fourth-degree assault. She was released from the St. Louis County Jail after posting 10% of a $25,000 bond. Phillips goes by Ruth Cole in her role as a Riverview Alderwoman.
According to a Riverview Police affidavit, Phillips and another person were drinking together when Phillips became verbally aggressive. Police say Phillips then struck that person in the chest with a lawn chair, poured alcohol over their head and grabbed them by the back of the neck…
