KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Internal Revenue Service said it is providing tax relief for individuals affected by Winter Storm Fern in Tennessee.
The IRS said affected individuals and businesses in some counties will have until May 22, 2026 to file returns and pay any taxes originally due during this period.
According to the IRS, individuals or households that live or own a business in the following counties qualify for tax relief:
- Cheatham
- Chester
- Clay
- Davidson
- Decatur
- Dickson
- Hardeman
- Hardin
- Henderson
- Hickman
- Lawrence
- Lewis
- Macon
- Maury
- McNairy
- Perry
- Robertson
- Rutherford
- Summer
- Trousdale
- Wayne
- Williamson
- Wilson
The IRS said the May 22, 2026 deadline applies to individual income tax returns and payments normally due on or after Jan. 22, 2026.
