Man rescued from Sacramento and American rivers by fire officials

A man was rescued by Sacramento fire officials Saturday after going underwater at the confluence of the Sacramento and American rivers.

At approximately 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Sacramento Fire Department crews responded to a call for service near 101 Jibboom St., south of Garden Highway on the American River Parkway, a spokesperson for the department said, after a man was reported as going under the water.
