Spokane Regional Health District to mark Public Health Week with events

Spokane, Wash. — The Spokane Regional Health District announced it will mark National Public Health Week from April 6-12 with messages and events focused on how local public health work affects daily life.

The district said this year’s theme is “Ready. Set. Action!” with plans to share posts across its social media channels about work ranging from pollution prevention to helping families access nutritious food.

“Thanks to the actions of our dedicated staff at Spokane Regional Health District, our community has clean water, safe food and a healthier environment,” said Dr. Francisco Velázquez, SRHD health officer said in a release. “Often these actions go unnoticed, but during National Public Health Week we want to show the community how public health is constantly at work in their everyday lives.”…
