SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Schenectady Police Department will be conducting training at Mont Pleasant Middle School next week. The exercise is scheduled to take place on April 8 and 9, while the school community is on spring break.

A heavy police presence will surround the school during both days of the training, school district officials said. Officers will also be seen carrying weapons as part of the exercise.
Officials emphasized that there will be no danger to the public while training is ongoing. The public should not be alarmed by the law enforcement activity.
