29-year-old motorcyclist dies after crash on Highway 58 near Coffee Road

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — A 29-year-old motorcyclist died after CHP says he made an unsafe turn and crashed off Highway 58 near Coffee Road early Saturday morning.

The California Highway Patrol said on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at around 1:40 a.m., officers were called to eastbound Highway 58, west of Coffee Road, for a report of a traffic crash involving a motorcycle.

CHP said a preliminary investigation found that a 29-year-old man was riding a 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on Highway 58, west of Coffee Road within an unknown lane, at an undetermined rate of speed…
