Coroner identifies victims in Easter morning head-on collision on I-77 in Richland County

RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say two people are dead following an Easter morning head-on crash on I-77.

Corporal Nick Pye with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened just after 4 a.m. on I-77 northbound near the 10-mile marker, which is near the Fort Jackson Boulevard exit.

Pye said a 2023 Toyota SUV was heading north on I-77 when it collided with a 2017 Chevrolet pickup truck that was heading south in the northbound lanes…
