A stolen North Carolina automobile was found in South Carolina. Now a Blythewood guy has been charged.

A 34‑year‑old Blythewood man, Joshua Sidney Gibson, has been charged with vehicle fraud after being found in possession of a stolen 2024 Kawasaki KRX at a Love’s Travel Stop on White Pond Road in Kershaw County, South Carolina.

How the case unfolded

  • The Kawasaki KRX was reported stolen on October 7, 2025, to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Columbus, North Carolina.
  • Two days later, on October 9, 2025, Gibson was identified at the Kershaw County truck stop; a witness picked him out of a photo lineup, and authorities determined he was in possession of the stolen ATV.
