Good Night John Boy to reopen relocated Cleveland location in May alongside new shots bar

CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Flats East Bank’s nightlife scene is getting a boost this spring, as Forward Hospitality Group will reopen Good Night John Boy in a new location and launch a new rock ‘n’ roll-themed shots bar dubbed Pour Lolas.

Good Night John Boy, the 1970s-inspired disco club, will reopen May 1 at 1048 Old River Road in a two-story space overlooking the Cuyahoga River. The move gives the popular concept — which first opened in Cleveland in 2021 — a waterfront home alongside other Forward venues such as Welcome to the Farm and I Hate Cowboys.

“It made sense for us to do something new in the old John Boy space and move John Boy by the water since it’s a recognizable concept within the city,” said Bobby Rutter, co-founder of Forward Hospitality Group. “We gutted the whole place. It’s a huge project for us. It will be our best unit. And because we started in Cleveland, we’re proud of that.”…
