Family displaced after flames tear through Midlothian home

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. — A family is displaced after a fire tore through a Midlothian home on Monday, according to Chesterfield Fire and EMS.

The fire broke out in the 1500 block of Hawkins Wood Circle in Midlothian around 11:15 a.m. Two neighboring homes have damage to siding due to heat radiating off of the fire.

“We had an exposure problem on both sides, where we had radiant heat damage to the two adjoining homes on either side of the main fire building,” Assistant Chief John Boatwright said. “Based on the volume of fire that they were met with, it burned through the roof. Crews quickly went into a defensive attack mode.”…
