Rochester, N.Y. — A man who pointed a gun at Rochester General Hospital staff members Friday was trying to get his brother out of the hospital when the incident happened, according to court paperwork.
In a deposition provided to police, a nurse said she was handing out lunch trays to patients on the fourth floor around 11:45 a.m. when she heard a man — identified as Gregory Strickland — loudly asking hospital staff where his brother was. After being told his brother was in the bathroom, Strickland “continued pacing around, pulled up his shirt and had his hand on a gun that was in his pants waistband” while demanding to see his brother.
The nurse said she called 911 when she saw the gun, while Strickland walked over to the next unit and continued to make demands for his brother. She said his brother came out of his room and tried to calm him down, right before security intervened…
