Mamacitas closing original location as Fayetteville becomes the main stage

North Syracuse, N.Y. — The place that helped turn a food truck into one of Central New York’s most talked-about kitchens is about to go quiet.

Mamacitas Puerto Rican Kitchen, the original brick-and-mortar on East Taft Road, will close Friday as owner Sara Giocondo shifts her focus to the restaurant’s newer — and busier — home in Fayetteville.

“This is not the end of Mamacitas,” Giocondo said. “It’s actually just a redirection.”…
