Weekend rain pushes Michigan rivers up, sparks flood warnings

GRAND RAPIDS, MI — A bout of storms and rainfall have swelled Michigan rivers and sparked flood watches and warnings across the Lower Peninsula.

The National Weather Service extended multiple flood warnings this week for rivers across Michigan after several inches of rainfall on already saturated soil helped swell riverbanks and send water into low-lying roads, homes and other structures.
