A food truck serving Cuban food in Baton Rouge is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant.

Elisa’s Cuban Coffee & Kitchen opened in 2022 and has since grown its menu to serve Cuban fare across Baton Rouge, including congri, yuca, roast pork, Cuban sandwiches and Cuban coffee.

After taking ownership of the food truck in June 2025, Katia Torres said opening a restaurant has been her dream ever since she was a little girl.

Now, she’s aiming to open the doors of her new restaurant on April 25 at 2627 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd., one of the spaces the food truck inhabits…
