Baton Rouge business may have stolen state funds set aside for tutoring kids

A Baton Rouge tutoring company may have stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars in state and federal funds set aside to help children get better at reading and math.

According to a subpoena for New Beginnings Inc. financial records filed by the Office of the State Inspector General, investigators believe the company potentially falsified records of student tutoring sessions, pocketing the money.
