Freshly-made food is coming in for a landing at Wilmington Airport, where until now hungry passengers had to choose from either vending machines or leaving the terminal for something to eat.
Starting this summer, Aunt Vonda’s Kitchen Table and Plated Soul will start operations at the terminal. Initially, options for travelers will include sandwiches and salads. The small cafe is expected to operate from early mornings until early afternoon.
Vonda Benson submitted the winning proposal to the Delaware River and Bay Authority to become ILG’s first concessionaire since passenger service resumed in early 2023.
“Most of the passengers are morning passengers. That’s when 50-60% of the passengers depart. We’ll be here at 4:00 a.m.,” Benson said…
