State Police were dispatched to the scene just after 4:15 p.m. Authorities said the first crash involved a car, a pickup truck and a commercial tractor-trailer.
According to an investigation, the car was traveling eastbound when it failed to maintain its lane and hit the westbound tractor-trailer. The tractor-trailer then reportedly lost control and hit the eastbound pickup truck.
Both the tractor-trailer and pickup truck went off the roadway and hit a utility pole, causing downed power lines, authorities said. The driver of the car, as well as the driver and passenger of the pickup truck, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
