Dog and cat owners now required by law to microchip their pets – & they have to foot the $25 bill

PET owners in one US city are now being told they must microchip their animals by law, and many will have to pay $25 to do it.

The rule is aimed at getting lost pets home faster and easing pressure on crowded shelters.

The change adds a new requirement on top of the city’s existing pet licensing rules and was backed unanimously by local leaders.
